I suppose the time has come when you've become curious as to who I am. Well, this much I can tell you with certainty.
However, if you really want to know, I'm Thomas. You can call me TJ. I'm average in height and size and also terrible at drawing. I love music. It's one of my favorite things of all time. I play four or more instruments with varying competence.
You might not expect this, but I also write. Yep, I do. Shocker. Other than my religious "treatises", I also attempt to write novels. And they're a lot of work. Maybe I'll talk more about them sometime, we'll see.
Also, I dance. Quite frequently. With music, I am immensely fond of it. Waltz, Swing, Polka, Irish are some of the dances I do. I love meeting new people through dancing.
In addition, I come from a fairly large homeschooled family for which I'm very grateful. They've raised me in the faith and showered me with more love than I deserve, which is the best gift I could ask for.
The point of this blog is to try and stir people to action. To inspire them to become better than what they already are. To help lead others on the path to Christ. These are things that all Christians should hear.
The time has come for me to use my gifts in a way that give glory to God. This is but one way in which I can help to spread the light. One soul at a time.
In case you wanted to know, I'll be posting every Sunday. And with that out of the way, I'll leave ya'll with this quote from the brilliant G.K Chesterton.
"An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered; an adventure is an inconvenience rightly considered."
Enjoy the adventure. I know I certainly will.
*waves frantically* HEY. I'm Jonathan. *sticks out hand* I saw that you stalked my blog AND I WAS THRILLED BECAUSE GUY BLOGGERS ARE RARE. You, I think, are my first guy follower. (not counting my dad and my bro which DOES NOT COUNT.) I shall definitely be stalking you. *nods* And do you mind if I put a link to your blog in one of my posts? I do a monthly wrap-up with top blog posts, and your posts have definitely made the list. *nods*
ReplyDeleteAlso I may or may not want to scream to the world that there's another guy blogger. XD
HEY-O, Jonathan! I saw your comment and tried not to scream because SOMEONE COMMENTED ON MY BLOG!!! Whew, calm down, deep breaths, Thomas, relax. Ok. Yes, yes, and yes! Feel free to share my blog any way you want. (On your blog, megaphone, smoke signals, etc.) On a side note, I'm really excited you liked what I posted. I honestly didn't know whether what I wrote was worth reading or not. (I tend to be my worst critic.) It's all new and rather exciting for me. I remember reading that there aren't really any guy bloggers, except for yours. I thought, "That needs to change." *hastily makes blog* "There. Now, two of us, there are."
DeleteThanks for stopping by and stalking!
XD I felt the same way when I got my first comment. Like, MY LIFE IS COMPLETE but wait now I have to come up with something to say in reply HOW DO I DO THAT.
DeleteOoh smoke signals great idea. *nods* :P
Well, I've found a few others. A few. None of them are very consistent though. Which isn't necessarily bad (like consistent is the last word I would use to describe my blog XD). But still. :)
So if you don't mind my asking how old are you? Seventeen? 24? Twelve? 56? :P (If you don't want to answer THAN PLEASE DON'T. I literally can't remember the last time I was offended. XD You could have reasons for not putting it up there. Like maybe you're a spy or something and your age CANNOT BE SHARED. XD)
(also btw your blog looks great. :D)
Thanks! :D
DeleteActually, I never thought even thought about giving my age out before. But since I can't ever give a straight answer: If you take the square root of a quarter century and times it by four and subtract five, you'll have my age. :P
Have fun!
(By the way, the spy thing is all hush hush, top secret.)
I noticed the way you gave your age, and it reminded me of my older sister...she does that. Much to the chagrin of my poor brain. ;) I'm terrible at math. Seriously.
DeleteOh, you're probably wondering "WHO ON EARTH IS THIS??" Let me explain my out-of-the-blue comment: I found your blog off of Jonathan's, so if you get annoyed at me, blame him. :P I'm a homeschooled girl from a large family so you're in good company. Promise. :)
I've enjoyed your posts so far, and look forward to more.
Hey, don't worry about it! I'm getting used to these unexpected comments. You're not the first to hop over from Jonathan's blog. ;)
DeleteSo, I hopped over to your blog and I have to say, you have a lovely family! :) It's a bit larger than mine, (1 and 2/3rds larger, to be exact), but I guess I can say my family is older? I'm actually the youngest.
Thank you! I'm glad you like my humble little blog. :D
yay!!!! I love finding bloggers who write and have the same Faith and worldviews as I do.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm homeschooled as well.
Cant wait to read more.
And btw we are the same age *whispers like a ninja*

Really glad you like it! :D Homeschooling is awesome! I love the freedom of being able to push past the current boundaries of my education whenever I wish to. I can't wait for you to read more too! (I'm trying to pace myself...I can't post everything at once!) :)
Delete-Thomas
I know it is. And taking breaks for traveling and such.
DeleteWhat genre do you write? I mostly do dystopian and historical.
Well, it's usually been fantasy, but for my latest novel it's been different. I wouldn't describe it as dystopian, more like apocalyptic.
DeleteHiii! I noticed you followed my blog, so I stopped by! Your posts are super well written, good luck on your blogging adventure!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! I wish you the best on your writing, as well! :D
DeleteHi Thomas!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I love the Latin web address! When I first saw "filii", I was like "genitive singular, masculine noun - of the son!" :P To be honest, I didn't understand the latin word for "light" so I thought maybe it was just coincidence. Turns out it isn't! :D What tense is it, exactly? Have you taken Latin long?
Please excuse me, I'm horrible at remembering to introduce myself...To make it short I found your blog through Jonathan's, and got really interested when I found out you knew Latin, were homeschooled, and came from a big family :D May or may not have to do with me being the exact same. In those cases, anyway ;)
Welcome to the blogging world!
Hi!
DeleteFinally, someone who knows Latin too! :D Lux is a third declension, feminine, singular noun. (en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lux#Latin) This website explains it very well.
I just started Latin this school year and I love it! I really like how everything is structured within it. How much experience have you had with Latin? We should totally talk more about Latin sometime. There's so few, it seems, that actually study it!
Anyways, I took a peek at your blog and it's great! I'm definitely adding it to my list! Thanks for the welcome! Blogging has been a great experience for me so far! :)
Ohhhh, I see. It's one of those third declension nominative nouns that aren't "regular", if you know what I mean. Like the nominative noun for peace is "pax", but the genitive, dative, accusative, and ablative have a "c" instead of an "x" in it (e.g. pacis)
DeleteI started Latin 1 last school year, and just recently finished. Covered the basics, I think. First three declensions, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd-io, and 4th conjugations, adjectives, adverbs, reflexive, possessive, and relative pronouns, and all that good stuff. Have you studied the present, future, imperfect, perfect, future perfect, and pluperfect yet? It can get SO confusing sometimes! Especially when you have to differentiate between active and passive too!
I took the NLE in March. It actually wasn't as bad as I expected. Are you planning on taking it too?
Just wondering, who are you taking Latin with? And which textbook are you using?
Thanks! Glad you like it :D
Oooooh big home schooled family? HAI HUMAN. I also am from a big home schooled family. Where are you in the lineup? (I'm the third oldest, so two older sibs and four younger sibs. There are seven of us in all.)
ReplyDeleteI also love how poetic all your posts are. I will definitely be hanging out around here. *nods*
Hey Hannah,
DeleteI'm the very youngest in my family, with five older siblings. (They call me the baby of the family...) Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad you think so! :D
Hey Thomas! I found your blog from Jonathan's (you've heard that before it looks like... XP) So, um, yes. Not much else to say. I love your posts and they always encourage me. :D
ReplyDeleteHa, way too many times now! :P Thanks, I'm glad to know they have a positive impact!
DeleteHello Thomas!
ReplyDeleteI’m Angela, a 15 yr old who lives on a ranch in TN. I’m a homeschooled kid, with and amazing family- I’m also an aunt to four little crazies. :)
I really love your message... How you want to reach out and inspire to move, to stand, to live… Words have an impact, and at any time, we can move people’s hearts toward Yahweh.
Yahweh gives each of us a gift- and one of mine happens to be the gift of words- since God put me on this earth. Lately, Yahweh has been showing me that there is Hope and if I have faith, I can move mountains. We each can- if we trust in the Lord, and let Him move our hearts- help others and spread His Love and Faith. It isn't always easy- especially when the Darkness is set on knocking us down and destroying us- but life is beautiful because the Light loves us and is our Shield and Deliverer...
I can't say I am a graceful dancer myself (but I personally love watching dancing… and I think I could do Native American dances because that’s in my blood, and I often find myself thinking of those dances… I should try that sometime…)- but Yahweh says to praise Him with our dance. I think that's what this life is about.
I am excited to meet you and see your journey! :) YHVH bless.

Hey TJ and friends. I am sure TJ can guess who this is...
ReplyDeleteWell, anyway, I can't say how much TJ has helped me, he has always been a supportive friend, and is always willing to talk. Then he is great at reading what my likes and dislikes are.
He in fact got me into this stuff, will see how it goes. And don't worry, I will be checking out your blog's too!
God Bless!
That's so cool, Thomas! And I agree with Jonathan, it is rare to see guy bloggers. I'm from a big family, too. Oldest of six. Not quite THAT huge. We're all homeschooled Christians! Anyway, thought I'd say hi. Hi!
